Private James Dundas was born in 1838.   He was living near Elmwood, Illinois, when he volunteered for the 8th Missouri.
James Dundas was one of nearly 400 Illinois residents who volunteered to serve in the 8th MO Volunteer Infantry (US).   You can use this link to view his Record of Service:   Record of Service: James Dundas.


James Dundas was present at the 8th Missouri Reunion (held sometime between 1895 and 1900).   This reunion was held in Peoria.


Dundas collected a pension of $12/month and suffered from deafness.   He died on March 28, 1911, and is buried in Sunset Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois.
